Biographical sketch of Inderbir K. Sandhu, PhD
Dr Sandhu holds a PhD in Educational Psychology (Gifted Education) from the University of Cambridge, UK. She has been working with individuals of high abilities (gifted) since 1996. She was formerly a lecturer at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Vice-President for the National Association for Gifted Children, Malaysia (NAGCM). She also worked as a consultant with NUS (National University of Singapore) Overseas College in the Silicon Valley, California, USA and in NUS Singapore. She then worked as an educational psychologist (gifted education) with Raffles Girls' School (Secondary), a school for the highly able in Singapore. She is also a consultant with Cambridge Alliance Centre, V-Campus (affiliated with Stanford University’s Education Program for Gifted Youth), advisor for projects on gifted education/creativity with schools, and gives expert advice for a website specially designed for the gifted/creative (www.brainy-child.com). Currently, she is managing her own consultancy (Mind Path Consulting Services) which provides services for creativity testing, workshops and seminars/talks for both schools and the corporate world. She is also an associate lecturer with SIM University (Singapore) teaching psychology to adult learners.
Dr. Sandhu has researched, presented and published various papers on giftedness both locally and internationally. She has also conducted talks and workshops on giftedness, creativity, critical thinking and motivation for both students and adults. Her areas of expertise and interests are gifted education, creative thought process and assessment, early education, educational testing (namely IQ and creativity), and critical thinking. |
